WHO WE ARE
Powys Mental Health Alliance (PMHA) acts as an informal network/forum of groups and individuals in Powys who have an interest in mental health issues. it draws its membership from the voluntary sector, people who experience mental health difficulties and their carers. It has a mailing list of 350+
WHAT WE DO
- Promote good practice in mental health and ensure that the views of people who experience mental health difficulties and their carers are heard and taken on board within mental health services
- Promote public awareness and understanding of mental health issues to reduce the stigma and discrimination associated with mental health problems.
HOW WE DO IT
- Promote user and carer interests at all levels including funding relevant expenses
- Input into joint planning at all levels and influence monitoring and evaluation
- Exert a responsible influence on Health, Social Care and Well-Being policy
- Produce quarterly newsletters and newsupdates
- Give small "Start-up Grants" for new initiatives
- Disseminate and provide information including training
