LOCAL SUPPORT (ADULT)

There is a very good network of carers' projects and support groups throughout Powys, most of which are general and tend to focus on the needs of carers of older or physically disabled people - Powys Carers (see below) can pass on details of other relevant organisations.

YOUNG CARERS SUPPORT WORKERS

Young carers are children and young people up to the age of 18 years old who have caring responsibilities for someone with a physical or mental illness, a physical or learning disability, or a drug or alcohol problem.  The person they look after may be a parent, partner, brother or sister, another relative, friend or neighbour.
