Medication Treatment Tranquilliser Withdrawal Index

Information about medication and other treatments for mental health problems is available from your doctor and from the Community Mental Health Teams (see also INFORMATION Section).

Your local pharmacy will also be able to answer questions about medications you are prescribed.  It is important to check with them about reactions with other medicines you may be taking, either prescribed or "over the counter" remedies.  All mental health teams in Powys have a worker specialising in tranquilliser and other addiction problems. (see COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH RESOURCE CENTRES section).

INFORMATION ON MEDICATION (See also ANXIETY STATES)

ELECTRO-CONVULSIVE THERAPY (ECT)

ECT is a controversial treatment used mainly in the treatment of severe depression.
