Calling all budding actors, directors, camera people, script writers, sound technicians and anyone who would like to raise awareness of issues faced by LGBT+ people
PAVO is really excited to have been selected as one of the groups to work with the outreach team behind the prestigious 'Iris Prize' and make a short, professionally-shot film. The Iris Prize is an international LGBT+ film festival based in Cardiff and Iris in the Community has received Big Lottery funding to work with communities across Wales to raise awareness of issues faced by LGBT+ people and to enable people to develop skills in the media industry. Previous participants have been very positive about how the project has helped them to develop confidence as well as film-making skills.
You will have the opportunity to work with a professional director and contribute to the development and production of a short film. Once completed you can then help organise a small film festival in Powys, where the finished film will be shown, alongside other films produced by similar community groups.
This a wonderful opportunity to get your voice heard, share experiences and learn new skills whilst helping to fight the stigma around LGBT+ and mental health issues.
