World Mental Health Day 10th October 2008 At Hafod Hendre (Royal Welsh Showground) 10 am to 4 pm
An event to launch the Powys Advocacy Network Define: What is Advocacy? What do the words mean? Highlight the range of advocacy services in Powys. Present and get feedback on the Draft Advocacy Charter. Participate in planning for the future. For further details and to book a place (numbers strictly limited) contact Glynis Luke on 01686 628 300 or glynis.luke@pavo.org.uk
Members of the newly formed Powys Advocacy Network would like to invite you to this exciting step forward in Advocacy provision for Powys. The network will be the principle speakers at this event and it will be an opportunity to find out what they do, what the different types of advocacy mean, and how the Network plans to develop their joint approach to advocacy. This is a not to miss event for people who are involved in the delivery of services in either the statutory or voluntary sector. It will also be relevant to people who feel their voice has not been heard and who may wish to use advocacy services. People who may want to train as an advocate or who may have been called upon to be an advocate for a relative or friend will find this event of particular value. We would emphasise that this is not a specific ‘mental health’ event as advocacy services within the Network also include advocates for people with learning or physical disabilities, advocates for children and families, and advocates for carers.
