Cyngor Ar Bopeth Powys Citizens Advice Bureau

The Powys CAB Prescribing Citizens Advice Plus Project has been awarded a new 3-year grant by the Big Lottery, under their People and Places Programme. This means that CAB advice appointment sessions will be available at an increased number of GP surgeries throughout Powys early in 2010 and the Telephone Advice Line, currently run by project caseworkers will be able to increase its opening hours from 1 to 3 days a week.

Appointments are currently available in the following surgeries:-

Llanfyllin (available to satellite surgery patients)

Welshpool

Llanidloes (available to Caersws patients)

Llandrindod Wells

            Presteigne

            Rhayader

Llanwrtyd Wells (available to Builth Wells patients)

Patients registered at Brecon Health Centre can have an appointment in the Powys CAB premises in Brecon. Regular appointment sessions will be starting up shortly in the Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant, Llanfair Caereinion and Knighton Wylcwm Street surgeries. Anyone who is a registered patient at any of the above surgeries and who would like help and advice from CAB should contact reception at the surgery to book an appointment.

The new Big Lottery Grant also funds fortnightly CAB advice sessions specifically for in-patents on the acute mental health ward at Bronllys Hospital, Brecon.

Anyone seeking telephone advice on any issue that affects their health and well-being or who is not registered with any of the above surgeries should contact the Prescribing Citizens Advice Plus Telephone Advice Line on 01686 629790 which operates on Wednesdays from 12noon to 4pmThe increased opening hours will be publicised shortly.
