Come along to our Coffee Morning on May 13th at Park Day Centre between 10.00 am and 12.30 pm and let us know how a Day Centre Service at the weekend on a Saturday could help improve the lives of you and your loved ones.
Now that DFN has made the centre it’s new home, we are asking people to come along and let us know how we may be able to support you, your family member or friend with dementia or loneliness on a Saturday.
As you know, the Park Day Centre has been identified as a possible casualty of the swinging financial cuts, but we at DFN are working with several partners to establish the centre as a hub to service the needs of people in Newtown and surround areas.
This, our first initiative, is aimed at identifying the need for the centre to be open, between 10.00am and 4.00pm, one or two Saturdays a month in the first instance.
The service will be run by experienced and professional staff and volunteers and offers a warm and friendly welcome for people of all ages and backgrounds.
So please come along, bring a friend or two and tell us know how we can assist you with a Saturday respite facility. Don’t forget, May the 13th is a very appropriate day as it is the start of Dementia Awareness Week.
