Course Provider: CAIS Young Person’s Substance Misuse Service

Aim:

  •        To understand what a “Legal High” or New Psychoactive substance is
  •        To identify where NPS come from
  •        To understand where people buy NPS
  •        To recognise some of the effects of NPS
  •        To be aware of treatment and harm reduction advice

Key Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the training participants will be able to:

  •        Understand the Historical background of NPS
  •        Identify the role of the Internet and Trends
  •        Recognise some New Psychoactive Substances
  •        Identify Treatment and Harm Reduction Advice
  •        Recognise the situation in Powys
