Throughout the project we have recorded outcomes that show how people have engaged in the project and how the project has supported their recovery in the community. In summary, from December 2010 to December 2011 the project has engaged with over 70 inpatients. Key positive outcomes included:
Greater numbers of inpatients accessing community services e.g. pottery, yoga sessions, craft activities, creative writing, IT, complementary therapies and other recovery based services delivered through the 'The Loft' and its outreaches.
Individuals had the opportunity to communicate with others in a supported and safe group experience.
Individuals expressed their thoughts and feelings creatively in a safe space.
Individuals were able to find new ‘connections’ with their local communities to continue with the interests they developed whilst participating in the project.
Please find the attached report by artist Tessa Waite which shows the positive impact, images and evaluation of her professional contribution to this project. We are still assessing the impact of this project and further evaluation reports will follow from the Creative Writing and Pottery sessions and comments from the Powys Patients Council.
Although the project has come to an end we greatly value this work and wish to build on its success in partnership with Powys Teaching Health Board and we welcome inpatients and Home Treatment Service service users into our community services and activities.
