Men’s Communication and Social Connection Styles – A Mental health toolkit programme for working from home or working alone
In June, Men’s Health Week focussed on the theme “Shoulder to Shoulder: Connecting for Health”. The theme emphasised the importance of connection, support, in addressing men’s health issues. The week aimed to encourage men to connect with each other, open up about their health concerns, and seek support when needed.
As a follow on to this week, we are running a session for men whose work involves working from home or regularly working alone.
Men’s Communication and Social Connection Styles – A Mental health toolkit programme for working from home or working alone (register on Eventbrite)
Tuesday 5 August 09:30- 12:30 online on Teams
Working from home or regularly working alone has many benefits for people but also can cause loneliness, social isolation and difficulties disconnecting from work. These factors can contribute to increased anxiety, stress, and even depression. We are offering this session to provide you with a ‘toolkit’ of techniques that focus on decreasing stress and anxiety, lifting your mood and increasing your resilience, coping and wellbeing.
We also know that men’s communication and social connection styles can be different especially when thinking about well-being. This workshop also explores the science of men’s communication and social connection styles and looks at the strategies that are effective in increasing communication effectiveness and social connection. The workshop is designed as a practical exploration of skills, knowledge and strategies specifically tailored to men.
This session is aimed at men who work in Social Care or Early years and childcare who work from home or often work alone.
