Eginiad Therapeutic Support
Following our recent announcement that Eginiad’s Lles a Lluniaeth / Nourishing Community Together project has been awarded funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, we’re delighted to share that our Therapeutic Support Programme will open for applications in the new year.
This programme is designed to bridge the gap for individuals who are currently facing long NHS waiting lists or who cannot afford private therapy. It aims to help people living with complex challenges; including depression, chronic illness, disability, pain or addictions often compounded by poverty and rural isolation.
Successful applicants will be matched with qualified local therapists for a series of 4, 6, or 10 one-to-one sessions. Participants are asked to contribute a nominal fee of £5 per session to aid their commitment to the process.
Applications: Our application process takes into account income, benefits, home ownership, caregiving responsibilities and health conditions. Applications are anonymised and reviewed by a small, skilled team, which includes Lucy Morus-Baird, Simon Griffiths and Frankie Walker.
Successful individuals are then matched with a suitable therapist based on need, approach, and availability. This process is supported by reflective supervision from an NHS psychologist, which helps us navigate complex assessments and ensure high-quality care.
Therapists & Approaches: The programme offers access to a range of trauma-informed therapies often unavailable through statutory services. Eginiad has verified all listed practitioners, ensuring they hold current professional insurance and relevant qualifications.
Physical & Body-Based Therapies include:
Somatic Movement and Massage
Shiatsu
Acupuncture
Osteopathy
Talking & Psychological Therapies include:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)
Art Psychotherapy
Hypnotherapy
Compassionate Inquiry
Integrative Psychotherapy & Counselling
A previous recipient said: “The shiatsu was delivered much sooner than the NHS therapy I was waiting for, which meant I was less anxious while waiting for conventional PTSD treatment.”
How to Apply: Please email eginiad.cmc@gmail.com
Applications open on January 12th and close on February 20th. They are means-tested and carefully assessed to ensure support reaches those in the greatest financial and therapeutic need.
