What the session is about:
The Care and Treatment Plan (CTP) course offers an excellent opportunity for anyone who would like to increase their knowledge and understanding around
producing care and treatment plans together as equals within Powys Mental Health Services. Everyone is welcome whether you are a service user, person with lived experience, clinician, family member or carer.
The course addresses the legal rights of service users and carers, what a CTP is and isn’t and the importance of CTPs being produced together to reflect the service user’s recovery goals. It includes examples of professionals and service users’ experiences of CTPs and offers opportunities for discussion and consideration.
What to expect:
This session is free of charge.
This will be a small group up to a maximum of 12 people.
People in the group include:-
people with life experience of mental health
challenges,
people who support or care for them paid or unpaid
– including mental health professionals
Seating will be at a table. We seek to meet everyone’s needs with mindful activities available for those who like or need them.
Two people will lead the group – one with experience of having care and treatment plans, and a professional with experience of writing care and treatment plans with people.
There will be short presentations on screen, before discussions.
If there is anything you particularly want to know please come with questions to the group.
You do not have to share your personal experiences if you don’t want to.
You are free to move around if you need to during the session. There is a space for ‘time out’ if you need it at any point during the session.
There will be a 15 minute break in the middle of the session with tea, coffee and biscuits provided.
You may leave at any time.
You don’t have to speak if you don’t want to.
