Together with The BloomSpace Foundation, Man Made is a new project funded by the Arts Council of Wales, created especially for men to come together, try something new, get creative and connect with others.
As part of the pilot project there will be 3 sessions each of 3 different art forms ceramics, photography and visual arts.
All men are welcome to join these free sessions, but they will be asked to complete a Mental Health questionnaire devised by Bloomspace specifically for this project, prior to the course starting and after completion of the 3 sessions – this will hopefully enable the Welfare to secure funding to develop a longer course in the future and will make sure that there is adequate support for both attendees and staff. All artists will have completed the fairly intensive Mental Health at work training led through Bloomspace as part of this research project and there will be an artist and a support staff member at each session.
The team are looking for suitable referrals of men with mild level mental health who may have an interest in a men’s only arts-based session. These will be held on different days and times according to the various subjects but always in The Welfare, Ystradgynlais.
