Staff at Brecon & District Mind are pleased to announce further lottery funding to develop their successful Mums Matters programme. This means they can continue to provide the much needed support for mums, mums-to-be and their families in these strange and difficult times.

Deborah Wilkie, the Mums Matter and Dads Development Officer, said: “We are so delighted and extremely thankful to the National Lottery for the fantastic funding to allow us to continue to deliver the Mums Matter programme. This programme has proved over the last 3 years to be extremely beneficial to mums and has made a positive difference to their Perinatal Wellbeing, so to be able to continue to offer this support is vital and much needed.

Becoming a mother is a very emotional and overwhelming time and can also be isolating, so not only do the Mums benefit from attending the programme it also provides a safe place for them to share their thoughts and feelings, not feel alone and have the opportunity to develop a network of peer support.

We also want to thank all those Mums for their support and for recommending the programme to other Mums, it’s been amazing. We would like to thank the Health Board and other services for supporting us too.”
