Traumatic Stress Wales, have been piloting their training offer at the Trauma-skilled and Trauma-enhanced levels. At skilled level it is for people working with and supporting people who we know are likely to have experienced trauma –  most organisations will have staff that will be doing this – and then enhanced level for people supporting those who have experienced trauma and we know what that is.

TIPSS has been delivered in education settings, residential care, Foster Wales Cardiff, New Pathways and to Barod for organisations working with children and young people and is about to be extended to people working with adults (including a digital self-led version through HEIW learning platform Y Ty Dysgu).

Bangor University are currently evaluating the approach and Traumatic Stress Wales would really like to include wider representation from the voluntary sector. Participating organisations would likely be ones already working towards being a Trauma and ACE-informed organisation, or willing to be, and would get the training (free) but also the chance to be able to participate in something that we hope will benefit them and the people they support – as well as the organisation being part of a formal evaluation that will show the impact for future funding opportunities etc. The offer also includes a community of practice for those rolling out TIPSS where sites can come together and share ideas and good practice.

Participants can be working with children and young people and/or adults and can elect to do the face the face training, the online training (for adults) or a hybrid.
